Our Heritage
Born on the French Riviera, in the heart of Saint-Paul de Vence, our House is driven by a unique family expertise passed down from generation to generation. We create exceptional fragrances for those seeking a rare perfume, the signature of timeless elegance.
1901
The House of Godet was founded by Julien-Joseph Godet in 1901.
For him, composing a perfume goes hand in hand with artistic creativity. The result is not guided by a desire for consensus, but by instinct and the search for rare, high-quality natural ingredients.
1908
Meeting of Julien-Joseph Godet with the painter Pierre Bonnard.
This will be followed by the creation of Fleurs de Reine, the first perfume to dare to use the cold enfleurage technique for tuberose.
1920
Opening of a store in Nice, on Avenue Jean Médecin.
Introduction of Henri Matisse to Julien-Joseph Godet by Pierre Bonnard.
1921
Launch of Petite Fleur Bleue.
An accord of absolute purity: rose, jasmine, and cedarwood.
1925
Henri Matisse's muse, Henriette Darricarrère, wore Folie bleue perfume in 1925.
2016
Sonia Godet, 4th generation, took over the family torch in 2016.
Following in her ancestors' footsteps, Sonia is committed to making perfume a true work of art, perfected in every detail: each bottle is blown and shaped by a master glassmaker, and the maceration and distillation processes for the flowers follow ancestral manufacturing methods.
