A case, six fragrances, a forgotten legacy
In 2016, Sonia Godet was at the beginning of her career at Cartier in New York.
Back in Provence for family reasons, she discovers an old leather case in her grandfather’s attic.
Inside lies a carefully preserved family treasure: six historic fragrances, formula notebooks and handwritten notes by Julien-Joseph Godet, the founder of the Maison.
The revival of Maison Godet
This discovery marks a turning point. Introduced to the world of aromatic exploration by her grandfather from an early age, Sonia begins to appreciate the true significance of this forgotten legacy. The fragrances and archives tell the story of a Maison, its creations and the passion of its founder.
One thing becomes clear: the historic fragrances of Maison Godet must be brought back to life. A meticulous process of research and reformulation begins, with particular care given to the quality of the raw materials, preserving the spirit of the original creations while bringing them into the present.
A living legacy, new creations
Over the years, Sonia Godet has brought the Maison’s historic fragrances back to life and expanded its collection with 22 new creations, composed primarily of naturally derived ingredients. Among them is Été 1901, a fragrance that has itself become part of the Maison’s scented history.
he also puts her expertise at the service of iconic venues, including Le Negresco in Nice and the Hôtel de Crillon in Paris, creating fragrances that capture their distinctive identities.
